Boomi On Demand SaaS Integration Deployed by MDS Pharma Services

Connecting SaaS and On-Premise Applications in Less Than Six Weeks

Boomi announced that MDS Pharma Services has implemented Boomi On DemandSM to integrate its Salesforce CRM application with its legacy on-premise Oracle applications. Boomi’s revolutionary software-as-a-service (SaaS) integration application allows MDS Pharma Services to achieve operational efficiencies through more accurate data and reporting.

By integrating its SaaS and on-premise applications and allowing up-to-date information to flow between related systems, MDS Pharma Services is better able to meet the needs of global pharmaceutical and biotech clients. Access to accurate and timely data across applications accelerates the exchange of information and improves productivity in support of drug discovery and development activities.

Boomi On Demand is a true on-demand integration solution. It provides integration services without the need for hardware appliances, software packages or coding. Boomi On Demand enables customers like MDS Pharma Services to integrate all types of applications and data directly from the Web without the cost and complexity of managing software infrastructure. Integrations are built visually with familiar point-and-click, drag-and-drop ease.

According to David Spaight, president of MDS Pharma Services, “The pharmaceutical industry is a fast-paced environment where access to real-time information is critical to success. With Boomi On Demand, we were able to deploy multiple integrations in less than six weeks. This allowed us to deliver more up-to-date information faster to support our clients, in keeping with our brand promise of high-quality, on-time service delivery.”

Such a deployment turn-around-time allowed the MDS Pharma Services IT team to get up to speed with the product in less than two months. The organization reports that the Boomi integration offering helped them to improve processes and reduce the amount of manual, duplicate entry. These results were accomplished with a minimum number of resources.

Once integration processes are built using Boomi On Demand, they are deployed via a lightweight, dynamic runtime engine called an “AtomSM.” Built with patent-pending technology, Boomi Atoms contain all the components required to execute an integration process from end-to-end, including connectors, transformation rules, decision handling and processing logic. Atoms can be hosted for SaaS-to-SaaS integration or downloaded behind a customer’s firewall for on-premise integration.

Customers can purchase integration capabilities on a pay-per-connection basis at a fraction of the cost of traditional enterprise integration software. Users have the ability to seamlessly integrate key SaaS applications with on-premise applications through the Web.

“The notion of delivering integration on demand has clearly struck a chord with the market,” explained Boomi CEO Bob Moul.  “As organizations such as MDS Pharma Services continue to experience Boomi On Demand – from integration set up through to production – we foresee continued industry buzz and adoption. For the first time, it’s possible to create integrations quickly and affordably without facing coding requirements or maintenance nightmares. It’s one thing to talk about fundamentally changing perceptions about integration. It’s another thing entirely to have customers agree that what you’re doing is not only new and different, but also better.”
